Saanthwana
Comprehensive, comforting rehabilitation
- Mental Illness
- Orthopedically Challenged
- Leprosy Challenged

The literal meaning of Saanthwana is "conciliation" or "comforting" — and that is deliberately the spirit of this programme, not just its name. Where a single intervention (a device, a surgery, a scholarship) helps one problem, Saanthwana is built as a complete, comprehensive rehabilitation pathway that follows a person and their family across medical, psychological, social and vocational needs together.
That means home visits and counselling for families adjusting to a new or worsening disability, coordination between medical care and social support so nothing falls through administrative gaps, and a long-term relationship rather than a one-time camp.
Rehabilitation, done properly, is rarely a single event — it's a programme sustained over years, and Saanthwana is SAKSHAM's commitment to staying present for that whole journey.
