Eye Donation

Donated eyes are used to restore vision in people suffering from corneal blindness — a condition that, unlike many causes of blindness, is often entirely treatable through corneal transplantation, provided a donated cornea is available. SAKSHAM works to raise awareness among people who don't yet know they can pledge to donate their eyes after death, and to make that pledge simple to register.

This effort sits inside CAMBA — Cornea Andhatv Mukt Bharat Abhiyan ("Cornea-Blindness-Free India Campaign") — a nationwide movement SAKSHAM is part of. In Kerala, the campaign has been run in partnership with the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, including a dedicated national workshop launch event.
